The General Hugh Shelton Leadership Center is pleased to offer for the seventh year a major four-year college scholarship to NC State University. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year (and renewable), plus an annual $2000 stipend for external leadership experiences such as study abroad. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) will select the next cohort of 1,000 students in the 2010-2011 academic year as Gates Millennium Scholars. This renewable, need-based scholarship provides financial support throughout a Gates Scholar's undergraduate career and into graduate school for those who choose to study in one of the seven graduate disciplines: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. To be eligible, students must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.
