Juniors - Deadline for registration for the SAT on November 6, 2010, at AHS is October 8, 2010. If you are planning on attending a four-year university, it is crucial that you take the SAT this year.
Jayne Phipps-Boger will be conducting a Financial Aid Workshop on Tues Sept 28 at 6:00 pm for students who intend on entering college classes in Spring 2011. Any student and family who wishes to have assistance filling out the financial aid forms on line need to call and make an appointment at 372- 5061 ext 231. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) will select the next cohort of 1,000 students in the 2010-2011 academic year as Gates Millennium Scholars. This renewable, need-based scholarship provides financial support throughout a Gates Scholar's undergraduate career and into graduate school for those who choose to study in one of the seven graduate disciplines: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. Wendy's High School Heisman - This award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership. Eligibility is limited exclusively to men and women entering their senior year of high school in the 2010-2011 academic year who have at least a "B" grade average and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport. Any eligible student can register and begin the application process at www.wendysheisman.com. Applications must be completed by October 3rd.
