A free practice test will be given on May 8, 2010 at AHS for any sophomore, junior or senior who plans to take the SAT in June.

NTHS volunteer hours are due to Mrs.Weeks by May 17th. Senior if you do not turn in your hours you will not receive cords for graduation.
Those students taking the Practice SAT Test on Saturday, May 8 need to arrive at 8:45 and bring your own calculators and pencils. There will be no calculators or back-up batteries provided on test day. It is your responsibility to come prepared for any emergency. No phones are allowed. The test will be administered in the cafeteria.
High School seniors planning to attend Wilkes Community College during the upcoming school year should take note of the financial aid deadlines for the 2010-2011 school year. The 2010 Fall Semester FAFSA Application Deadline is June 1, 2010. The 2011 Spring Semester FAFSA Application Deadline is November 1, 2010.
Students submitting late applications must be prepared to pay all tuition, fees, and related expenses before the first day of classes. Late applications will be processed and aid awarded to those students who are eligible after the start of each term.

Congrats to the FFA AG Mechanics team for winning the Northwest Regional Contest yesterday. Alleghany had the top 3 scores in the entire contest. Marshall Hash was 1st place, Chase Wood 2nd, Josh Shepherd 3rd, and Dylan Atwood 8th.
