Announcements


Mr. Archibald will be in the lobby during both lunches on Monday, May 4th with senior orders.

For information on summer enrichment opportunities go to CFNC.org and click on student planner. You can also explore the College Re-direction Pool for information on colleges that still have opening for the 2009-10 school year. All community colleges and some 4-year colleges are still accepting applications. Call 866-866-CFNC and select option 1 for more information.

Today April 28th Ms. Hawks will be available for make up time from 12pm-4:30pm in ALC. If you have any questions about your hours please see her in ALC. Thank you.

Blue Ridge Application are due today to Mrs. Maines in the guidance office.

Alleghany Football and Basketball, Cheerleader tryouts for 2009-2010 will be May 4th-8th, at 3:30pm-5:30pm. There will be a required meeting for candidates and parents on Thursday (April 30th) at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. You must attend this meeting if you are going to try out for cheerleading.

The Last day for the Carowinds permission forms and money is today April 28th.

The track team will be dismissed at 2:30pm Monday and 1:15pm on Wednesday for meets.

Junior Counselors and Adult volunteers are needed for Camp Sunshine (June 15th - 17th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Camp Sunshine is a day camp for children between the ages of 5-12 who are grieving due to the death of a family member or other loved one. Junior counselors are paired with a child assisting in activities each day. Adult volunteers assist in leading camp activities, help with food and snacks, assist with registration/sign out and other duties as needed. Please see Mrs. Clifton for applications or check out camp information on the web at highcountryhospice.org. Deadline to apply is April 25th for junior counselors and May 15th for adult volunteers.

All interested Med. Camp students check in the office for applications that are due April 30th. Med. Camp will run the week of June 8th-12th with all activities completely free of charge. Transportation can be provided for if needed.

There will be a meeting for all girls playing basketball next season Wednesday during morning break in the old gym.

There will be a Dream team meeting on Wednesday after school in the cafeteria.
